Another Ornament

Just one more ornament card for now and then I will move on to another set :) I had these leftover supplies on my desk so went with this card today using Ornament Keepsakes, Baja and Real Red cardstocks and my all time favorite- Whisper White. I have yet to find another white cardstock that takes the ink and different coloring techniques as well as this one. I used Real Red, Old Olive, and Baja Breeze here. To complete ornament, I used the silver glitter paper and the SU stretchy silver cording from a previous catalog, and one of those cute dahlia buttons.

The well dressed witch

Cards tomorrow, I promise! I got some new SU goodies that I am looking forward to trying out.

I saw some cute glittery witch hat decorations in Pier 1 that I thought I could do easily enough. I added a double row of rhinestones to my witch's dressy occasion hat :). I used SU black chunky glitter on a lightweight cardboard (template is just a cone and a circle). This one is about 2 1/2" high. The rhinestone "ribbon" I found at the Container Store in their wedding/gift wrapping area.

Halloween Rosette

Rosette made with retired Stampin' Up Halloween paper, Mixed Medley sentiment, three flower punch, Tim Holtz rosette die. Very quick and easy.

Halloween tree decorations

I set up a lighted white 2 foot tree on one of my stamping desks and am having so much fun working on some handmade and stamped decorations. I found some old ball ornaments and coated about a half dozen of them in glue and then orange glitter. Some will get jack-o-lantern faces. The witches hat is lightweight cardboard and very easy to make- just a small cone and a circle base, glittered in green. The Frankenstein treat box is from the milk carton die (SU). The pumpkin was made with one inch strips fastened at the top and bottom with brads and a Stampin' Up felt flower (a retired embellishment).

I'll take a picture of the full tree to share when it is all done.

By the light of the silvery moon

I wanted to try a different color combination for this Halloween set and went with Sahara Sand. Spooky Skyline jumbo wheel in Sahara with Petite Purse die. Toxic Treats stamp embossed with pewter powder, shaded in Baja and Pacific Point inks.

Ornament Greetings

All Stampin' Up supplies: Ornament Keepsakes stamp set with coordinating framelits dies stamped in Real Red, retired paper that has flocked snowflake (do not know name), Real Red textured cardstock, Greetings of the Season stamp set. The ornament was made by gluing around edges and adding silver glitter, added a faceted button and half pearl, filled in entire area with Crystal Effects and sprinkled just a touch of Dazzling Diamonds over all. It looks SO much prettier in real life.

Purse

I couldn't resist the SU fabric that was on sale for 99 cents, it's a great way to try it out if you haven't used it before. I used the Deck the Halls here with the new 1 1/4" scallop punch and a filigree brad with some Cherry Coredinations cardstock and the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder. Love this purse die, it goes together so nicely! Be of Good cheer designer paper for decorative strip.

Ruby Red Slippers

A fun little Christmas project that I was working on today. I found the awesome shoe ornaments at Ben Franklin Crafts and knew I had to make some Dorothy slippers for my Wizard of Oz tree. The Glitter It glue is a very thin pourable glue that coats the whole inside of the ornament and then you add the glitter. SO easy! I would suggest letting it all dry overnight though. I was overly anxious to get the ornament hook back in and scratched off the glitter on two of the ornaments. What's sweet about these ornaments is that the glitter is all on the inside and contained so it won't be getting all over the place.

step by step ornament

For the center sentiment I used the inside plastic circle from a spool of ribbon. I adhered the sentiment that was punched from a 1 1/4" and a 1 3/8" circle punch. This gave this part of the piece the depth that it needed to stand out above the ornament pieces. (I don't throw anything away!) Hope the step by step visual helps a bit. For the tulle I cut between each scallop and just rolled the piece into a fan-like section and inserted it between each small ornament framelit with large glue dots. When the whole thing was finished I just pulled the tulle pieces up between each section and fluffed them up a bit.

Wicked Cool Ornament

New Stampin' Up set Ornament Keepsakes used for pieces of ornament in Pumpkin Pie and Tanerine Tango, Basic Gray and Black, and Real Red. ESpresso tulle ribbon accents, Wicked Cool stamp set for center sentiment. I'm working on a photo tutorial to show how I assembled this.
