Me Treasure

Still playing around with this adorable new Lawn Fawn set Ahoy, Matey. Thought I could use this for an anniversary or you could use it for friendship. Perfectly Plaid paper and stitched frame dies also used. For the sentiment I masked off the "A" after the word "You're" and replaced it with the "Me" from the same set.

Ahoy, Matey!

For the current Lawn Fawn Challenge and a spring feel. Also for the metallic challenge on SCS.
I used gold and bronze metallic mica flakes for the treasure. Supplies are new Lawn Fawn. Ahoy Matey stamp set and coordinating does, colored images in Copics. Watercolored a sunny sky background and then embossed with clouds folder by SU. Edged card with caramel and Baked Brown Sugar. Added dots for sand.

Stampin' Up! and Google Android

I made this card for my Google guy and will either use it for Father's Day or his birthday which is why I kept the sentiment kind of neutral. I drew the Android robot and colored it with bright green and pale olive Copic markers, cut out and popped up on dimensional dots. The sentiment on the side is in Google's colors and is Stampin' Up! On A Pedestal, the code is from Lots of Bots (both retired).

Mermaid

I just love this new mermaid collection by Hero Arts. Colored in Copics and added retired SU glitters in turquoise and green. Die cut and added to watercolor card base that was taped with washi tape, spritzed with water, and then I added whatever turquoise liquid that was in the bottle that came with the monthly Hero Arts mermaid kit. Net was cut from a mesh bag and pearl added to shell to embellish.

Danke, Deutschland

I used all of the in color markers that are retiring and created a background using this Romantic Flowers set and sentiment from Germany. You know I would be able to find the stamp/ paper crafting shop! This card is going to the incredible people at the Heidelberg Marriott that made our stay even more wonderful. Everyone there was so warm and friendly and I would love to go back again. I'll be working on my German in the meanwhile. I did try and did fairly well except for the one time when I ordered dinner and asked for what I thought was " no onion" but actually said sweat. Apparently, it's all in the pronunciation! We are still laughing about that one :)

Showers Bring Flowers

This set (and the butterfly) are my favorite Tim Holtz images. It started off mostly gray and monochromatic and then I thought of all of the prettier things some rain brings and added some color with the flowers.
Started with a vintage sheet music page and painted with gesso. Stamped umbrella and then added some brushos and Payne's Gray watercolor for rainy skies. Silver embossed clock from the same set and shaded with SU chalks. Stamped sentiment and SU Simply Soft flowers that were colored with Prismacolor pencils. Inked edges first with Old Paper and then Weathered Wood, both by Tim Holtz. Did a lot of little dots on image, I was so captivated by some of the pointillist paintings that I saw recently.

May the Fourth Be With You!!

For May the Fourth, Star Wars Day! Yoda is my favorite character so I collected some quilling pattern ideas from the Pinterest boards and made this little guy. I'm pretty much a newbie on the quilling thing and really like it, it's easier than I thought it would be (but my rectangles need a bit of work). I bought a quilling book for kids that starts off with the basic techniques and makes lots of cute, easy images. A great way to begin and practice.

Merry Monday challenge

For the Merry Monday challenge with the theme Twas The Night Before Christmas. I had the exact papers for this one, same name as the poem by Graphic45. Made an accordion pleated fan and embellished with various papers, sequins, pearls, and silk flowers. Quite the early start on 2017 Christmas cards!

Post Card Flamingo

When I was in Heidelberg, Germany about a week and a half ago, I picked up a coloring book of post cards and markers for some vacation crafting time. I visited the zoo there and fell in love with the flamingos, they are so beautiful!! This will go into my scrapbook of my trip. The flamingo stamp and die cut are from Hero Arts.

May Day basket

Happy May! I remember when we were kids our school would have a May Day procession and one lucky little girl was chosen as the "May Queen" (never me...sigh). I made a basket out of retired Stampin' Up! ribbons of caramel gingham and narrow white stitched with a taupe seam binding ribbon bow. Paper flowers are by Recollections on a Soft Sky and Whisper White base. Tulip Frame embossing folder was used for edges.
